‘ZEST’ – Annual Sports Day 2018
The SD Vidya School, Noida celebrated the much awaited Annual Sports Meet – ZEST, 2018 in the school premises. The event began with the welcome of guests; District Governor Elect, Rotary International, Mr Deepak Gupta and First Lady, Ms Reena Gupta; President of Sanatan Dharam College Society, Lahore, Mr B.K. Soni; Founder and Director of Gurukul-The School, currently District Interact Chair of Rotary International Interact Club, Mr Sachin Vats; and the members of the Rotary Club, New Delhi-1. The School Principal, Mrs Kavita Nath, Chairman, Mr R. K. Madan and Chief Guest, Mr Deepak Gupta addressed the gathering. In his address, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts made by the school in providing children with opportunities to hone their skills. The event commenced with an awe-inspiring jugalbandi between a Kuchipudi dance ,a live orchestra and the recital of a melodious Ganesh Vandana by the students . After an impressive march past by the students, the meet was declared open by lighting of the torch. As a symbol of respect the torch was lit and passed on to the most meritorious girl athletes of the school, which set the tone of the event. After the meet was declared open by releasing balloons the proud parents and guests were enthralled by the variety of performances especially Yoga , the Dumbbell Drill, Zumba and the colourful drills performed by the primary students. The athletic events added tremendous thrill and kept the audience cheering. The Pyramid formations were a unique balancing act where the students displayed tremendous balancing skills with great pride. The meet concluded with a vote of thanks and National Anthem.
