Rotary Interact Clubs

2018-19

The S.D. Vidya School, Noida hosted the installation ceremony for the office bearers of the Rotary Interact Club in the school premises. Gracing the occasion were dignitaries from the Rotary Club of New Delhi OneRtn. JK Sharma President, the first lady of the club Neelima Sharma, Rtn. Gaurav Bhargav IPP and Interact Chairperson, Rtn. Payal Nambiar Director Youth Services, Chairman Mr. RK Madan and Principal Ms. Kavita Nath. The ceremony began with National Anthem. The Principal then accorded a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests and felicitated them with auspicious tulsi saplings. She assured the dignitaries that together they would strive for excellence in their endeavour to uphold the motto of the Rotary Interact Club ‘Service Before Self’. Followed by this, the table maestros of the school presented an enthralling table jugalbandi which was highly appreciated by all. Anuja, the outgoing President in her speech highlighted the achievements of the Interact Club in the past year. Rtn. JK Sharma President, other dignitaries, chairman and principal did the honours of pinning the badges to the office bearers. Rtn Payal Nambiar then administered the Interact oath to all the office bearers. In their address, the guests congratulated the newly appointed rotarians and encouraged them to be the flag bearers of the youth. They also praised the clockwork precision with which the ceremony was conducted. The programme ended with a vote of thanks.

Students of The SD Vidya Rotary Interact Club in collaboration with the Rotary Club of New Delhi One, and the Soulbath Peace foundation celebrated The Global Compassion Day on 10th May 2018 . “Serving a smile” to society, was the motto behind the celebration of the International Annual Raj Bhowmik Global Compassion Day (RBGCD). In keeping with the spirit and motto of RBGCD, and the motto of Rotary Club of “Service before Self” the students took the initiative in serving and reaching out to the poor and needy by distributing food items like rice and pulses to all such people who toil hard for their day to day existence. The entire school donated generously for this good cause. Students also participated in a Peace March in Noida. It was a wonderful learning experience for all members imbibing the value of compassion in the students and spreading happiness and the message of peace to one and all.

With an effort to raise awareness about cervical & breast cancer the Interact Club of The SD Vidya School, Noida under the guidance of their Principal Ms Kavita Nath organised a ‘Cancer Awareness Talk’ and ‘Free Health Checkup Camp’ for the staff members and their families in the school premises on 19th January, 2019. The event was organised in collaboration with ‘Dharamshila Narayana Super Speciality Hospital’. A team of 12 members of the hospital including the Gynaecologist, Physician and Surgical Oncologist were present. Dr. Satinder Kaur senior Gynae oncologist during her talk enlightened the audience about common causes and symptoms of cancer. She also focused on the importance of regular cancer screening as early detection can lead to early cure and apprised the audience about vaccinations available that can minimise the risk of cancer. Free health examination included test for  Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, Oral Screening, Pap Smear and ECG . Free coupons for a Mammogram were also distributed to the audience. The Principal Ms Kavita Nath expressed her deep gratitude to the visiting doctors their team and especially the management of the hospital for their magnanimous  support.
